Yeh ek aham masla hai. Rasool Allah ﷺ ne irshad farmaya:
Iman se murad Allah Ta'ala, us ke farishton, us ke rasoolon, us ki kitabon, Qayamat, Jannat o Jahannam aur deegar ghaibi umoor par iman lana hai.
Agar koi shakhs ba-zahir Musalman aur bad-aqeeda ho, lekin us ka aqeeda use daira-e-Islam se kharij na karta ho, to us ke aakhri waqt mein Kalima parhne se us ke bare mein badgumani nahi ki jayegi. Us ke batin ka haqeeqi haal Allah Ta'ala hi jaanta hai, kyun ke Shariat zahiri halat ke mutabiq hukm deti hai, dilon ke haal par nahi.
Albatta agar koi shakhs aisa kufriya aqeeda rakhta ho jis ki wajah se woh Islam se kharij ho chuka ho, to sirf maut ke waqt Kalima parh lena kafi nahi, balke apne kufr se sachi tauba karke iman lana zaroori hai.
Lehaza sachi tauba aur iman maut ke asaar ghalib aane se pehle hona chahiye. Jab maut ke farishte insaan ko nazar aane lagen, maut ki haqeeqat us par zahir ho jaye aur aakhirat ke ghaibi haqaiq us ke samne aa jayen, us waqt ka iman mo'tabar nahi hota.
Yeh bhi yaad rakhna chahiye ke kisi insan ka anjaam hum nahi jaan sakte. Ek shakhs poori zindagi nek aamaal karta hai magar us ka khatima kharab ho jata hai, aur doosra poori zindagi gunahon mein mubtala rehta hai lekin aakhir mein sachi tauba karke apna anjaam sanwar leta hai.
Is liye kisi bad-aqeeda Musalman ke bare mein sirf zahir dekh kar aakhri anjaam ka faisla nahi kiya ja sakta. Shariat zahir ke mutabiq hukm deti hai, jabke dil ka haal aur haqeeqi anjaam Allah Ta'ala hi jaanta hai.
This is an important matter. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
Faith means believing in Allah Almighty, His angels, His messengers, His revealed books, the Day of Judgment, Paradise and Hell, and other matters of the unseen.
If a person is outwardly a Muslim and has a misguided belief, but that belief does not take him outside Islam, then if he recites the Kalima at the time of death, he should not be judged negatively. His inner state is known only to Allah, because Islamic rulings are based on outward circumstances, not on what is hidden in people's hearts.
However, if a person holds a belief that takes him outside Islam, merely reciting the Kalima at the time of death is not sufficient. He must sincerely repent from disbelief and accept faith.
Therefore, sincere repentance and faith must occur before the signs of death become apparent. When the angels of death become visible to a person and the realities of the Hereafter become clear to him, faith at that moment is not considered valid.
It should also be remembered that we cannot know a person's final outcome. A person may spend his life performing good deeds but have a bad ending, while another may spend his life in sins but sincerely repent at the end and improve his outcome.
Therefore, the final outcome of a person with a misguided belief cannot be determined merely by looking at his outward condition. Shariah judges according to outward circumstances, while the state of the heart and the true final outcome are known only to Allah Almighty.
